About the artist.
Greetings! My name’s Adrian, born and raised in Sabah, Malaysia. This space is where I showcase my creative side through two things I enjoy the most: painting and writing.
I wouldn’t call myself a professional painter - at least not yet. I’m still working towards it. My love for art began when I was a child, with doodling, sketching, colouring, and even simple origami. Over the years, my interest in art continued to grow, leading me to participate in several drawing and colouring competitions. I don’t remember much about most of them, but I know I did.
During my elementary and high school years, I would often sketch in class whenever I felt bored; a friend sitting in front of me, the classroom board, or even random things that crossed my mind. I’ve always had a knack for art, and those who noticed it would often tell me that my drawings, even the simpler ones, were good compared to others. But as time went by, that part of me slowly faded.
I spent some time studying psychology, exploring the human mind and behaviour. Then, in 2024, I decided to return to my childhood passion with renewed focus and curiosity. With my background in art and my exposure to the human mind, I intend to create artwork that can offer people insight in whatever way possible - something they can relate to, reflect upon, and perhaps use to understand themselves a little better.
As my practice often explores the inner landscape of the human experience, my works reflect an ongoing investigation into the relationship between one’s inner world and personal growth, while emphasizing the importance of self-understanding in navigating life’s challenges.
Everyone has their own story. People express their feelings, emotions, and struggles in different ways. As for me, I express my thoughts through art, telling my story.
The narration of my own visual ideas.
