With Hardship, Comes Ease: The Written Destiny

"With hardship, comes ease" is my latest painting, made after a short hiatus. Truth be told, I had a hard time creating this piece. This blog’s theme about fate was decided months ago. It’s a miracle that I feel this painting’s general idea, by chance, relates to destiny.

At the same time, I kinda felt unsure about posting this artwork online. All because I think that it lacks aesthetic appeal, although art, as we know it, is subjective (I’ve talked about this before here).

But this mindset is contrary to the main reason I returned to art: to help offer people insight in whatever way possible.

With hardship, comes ease

In all honesty, about the aesthetic appeal earlier, I felt insecure as I compared myself with hundreds of artworks made by great artists I found online. In addition to some kinda art block faced during the process, making me feel the outcome of this piece is not that great, at least for me.

Despite that, I had the urge to post it regardless, along with the publication of this blog. Maybe somewhere, some people think this artwork is somehow – perfect.

For my intention is none but one: something for people to reflect upon.

And perhaps… use it to understand themselves better.

Indeed, with hardship comes ease. (94:6)

As we know it, humans can never avoid trials, for as long as they live. Each of us faces different ordeals – varying in how heavy or how long they’re going to be. Mistakes were made, and actions have consequences.

Not to forget, people befell with the difficulty in figuring out the solution to their problems. To the point where there is no solution to be found.

However, have we ever thought that the situations we were in, the people we used to be…

… are necessary for who or what we might become? Or the state we are currently at?

Captured by the author.

Unknowingly, changes have taken place within us, no matter how small they may be. Think of the time when you managed to get into that job, finally acquired the answer to your sibling’s maths question, and perhaps when you help that one friend who’s really in need.

How does it make you feel? Relief, comfort, at ease?

The value you gave to others, and indirectly to yourself.

Maybe it’s about trust and reliance; to let go and let God. Given that, despite the difficulty, there are things to be grateful for. For God does not burden a soul beyond what they can bear.

Deciding the right or wrong choice

When the time comes to take a stand, some are scared that they will make the wrong decision. Afraid of what could go wrong and whether they will ever cope with the burden that comes along.

So, does the right choice really exist?

Me myself wouldn’t say there isn’t. Just that the decisions we make are highly influenced by our own lives – which differ from others. Humans, indeed, are all the same… but never equal.

Can we expect all children to have big dreams when they grow up, when there are those who don’t even know if they will ever eat the next day?

I may look like have strayed far from the original topic, but I’ll let you, the one reading, to find the relevance yourself.

The work in progress image.

Looking back, the creation of this painting sure makes me questioning my own ability in art. However, by a twist of fate, leads me to this writing – and to anyone who’s reading at the moment.

No matter how bad things may look, believe that ease will come along. As long as you know how to carry yourselves better…

… and to never lose hope.
