About the artwork:

"The Wandering Red Girl" is a piece that features a lone female figure in a red dress, seemingly on the move with no apparent destination.

This piece was made at the early time I returned to art. For some reason, I relate to the Red Girl, as her wandering state somehow symbolizes my directionless phase in life. Life at that time was – empty. My mind feels hollow, plagued by constant worry, in addition to a sense of living an unfulfilling life.

I was just existing, not truly living.

The wandering scenario is my way of highlighting personal growth and development of oneself. Changes called for desire, intention, together with courage. Indeed, it is not an easy path – to redirect the way of living, finding your purpose and true self through self-exploration. From the moment I turn over a new leaf, life somehow become even tougher than it used to be. Apparently, that teaches me one important aspect in life – resilience.

As we go, we will surely find what the heart seeks. Vision becomes clearer, and the road seems easier to walk by, as challenges faced before shaped the strength.

It still isn’t perfect – just somehow, serene.
